| Otari, Inc. introduced new products for their multichannel wiring system "Lightwinder" series at the Otaritec booth of Inter BEE 2005 (International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition 2005) held from November 16 to 18, 2005, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. |
|
| The new product, called the "Lightwinder Broadcasting (LWB)", is especially designed for audio transmission in broadcast stations. Otari's engineers visited various broadcasting facilities to investigate the actual needs there and designed this new product to provide an easier-to-use and compact optical wiring system. The LWB series utilizes camera cables for easy access in the field and provides many features not available in the existing Lightwinder series machines. At the show, two versions of the LWB-16 "Remote Box" were exhibited: one with 12 mic inputs/4 line outputs, and one with 4 mic inputs/12 line outputs. The LWB-16 supports 2-wire intercoms and HD-SDI (both as an option). A system combining these two types of Remote Boxes will provide a valuable solution as a compact optical transfer system for fields outside of broadcasting. |

| Like the Lightwinder series, the LWB products allow users to optimize a system to their applications. The LWB-64 "Master Unit" introduced at this show utilizes an architecture that enables user customization by selecting which I/O modules to use. Six types of I/O modules are available. The LWB series is designed to be configurable in accordance with the customers' needs regardless of the scale of the system. | |
