Otari, Inc. attended International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition 2005 (Inter BEE 2005) held from November 16 to 18 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

At the Otaritec booth, the 48-track digital audio recorder DR-100, the 2-track digital audio recorder/editor DR-10N, the multichannel wiring system LW-55, and the network audio distribution unit ND-20B were displayed. At the Otari booth, the digital on-air console DB-32, the digital on-air console DB-10, and the digital production console DB-16P were exhibited.

LWB-16 Unveiled at Otaritec Booth
At the Otaritec booth, the latest product in the Lightwinder series, LWB-16 was unveiled.

This product was especially designed as a Lightwinder machine for outside broadcasting. It adopts camera cables and has the smallest chassis in the Lightwinder series. Its novel design and shape and the feel of operation suited to outside broadcasting garnered many positive responses. Many visitors showed interest in the machine.

Although not exhibited at this show, the LWB-64 is available in the LWB series. From a minimum configuration using two LWB-16's, to a larger one that combines multiple LWB-64's and LWB-16's, the LWB series will attract attention as a system that can be widely used in any scale of application.

The version 3.0 software for Otari's flagship recorder DR-100 was released and its further refinements of operation and added new features were highly appreciated.

Also at the Otaritec booth, Soundscape iBox from Sydec Audio Engeneering was exhibited as an ideal audio I/O for the DR-100.

At the General Traders, Ltd. booth, the DR-100 was used for demonstration of the Aurus console from Stage Tec (Germany) because the DR-100 can be easily connected to the console via MADI. The DR-100 was controlled via a Sony 9-pin connection from the famous direct-access console "Aurus". This comfortable operation environment created in the exhibition hall attracted many visitors.

The DR-100 was also exhibited at the YAMAHA booth because it can be connected to YAMAHA consoles via the MINI YGDAI card "MY16MADI64" by Audio Service (Germany).

Although the MY16MADI64 is not released in Japan, the combination of the Otari DR-100 and YAMAHA digital consoles that have attained a reputation for operability and sound quality will become more popular.

At the Otari booth, the new LP-3 CD/DVD label printer was exhibited. This machine can automatically supply printable CD/DVD discs to three printers and enables long unattended production. Demonstration of the auto loader mechanism attracted the attention of many visitors.

Otari's digital mixing consoles were displayed at the Otari booth. In particular, the DB-16P attracted the attention of many people from broadcast stations and production studios as an easy-to-use audio mixer for video editing system. At the For-A booth, their linear editor EC-3000 introduced for the first time at this show was displayed with the DB-16P.
