In cooperation with the British system integrator Megahertz Broadcast Systems Ltd., Otari, Inc. exhibited the LWB-16M and LWB-64 at IBC2007 held in Amsterdam from September 7 to 11.
The Megahertz stand was crowded with visitors from European, Near-Eastan and African broadcasting stations and our unique fiber-optic transmission system attracted a great deal of attention.
Using a Lemo type HD camera cable, the LWB-64 installed in the HDSNG van made by Megahertz was connected to the new "modularized" LWB-16M placed in the booth to showcase the advantage of the LWB system in that it can be powered via just a HD camera cable, even in on-the-spot broadcasting where no power supply is available.
"It was a privilege to be chosen as Otari's European reseller, and to have the opportunity to demonstrate the company's Lightwinder fibre-optic AV interfaces to the European Broadcast community at the IBC show," commented Megahertz's Proposals Manager Don Wilson. "At Megahertz, we have been using Lightwinders in many of our larger OB projects for several years, so we are already advocates of the advantages they confer in outside broadcast systems. We enjoyed explaining and demonstrating the Lightwinder LWB-16 and LWB-64 to European broadcasters and engineers at the IBC show and we had a lot of interest, especially from representatives of companies in the large-scale OB market."
