- QC Corporation also uses the Otari CDP-64 multidrive CD-R duplication system, adding an increased level of flexibility for the company to address new media manufacturing markets - QC Corporation, one of the world's largest loaders of VHS cassettes for retail distribution, has further expanded its loading capacity with the addition of 28 new Otari VL-352 video loading machines. Two dozen of the new VL-352 loaders were formed into a single line; the other four were used to expand an existing line. The company now has a total of 91 Otari VL-352 video loaders, along with the distinction of operating the largest loading lines in the world, which include three 24-machine loading lines and one 16- machine loading line. This massive loading capability, coupled with the utter reliability of the Otari VL-352 and Otari's unflagging technical support, gives QC Corporation the capacity to load 120 million VHS cassettes annually. QC Corporation also installed an Otari CDP-64 CD-R duplication system last year, which vastly increased the company's ability to address new media manufacturing markets. "The Otari VL-352 loader is the leader in the VHS loading world," observed Dave Neamtz, Project Maintenance Manager for QC Corporation. "The VL-352 is bulletproof in terms of reliability and robust operation. Maintenance is very, very easy, and that's a primary reason we've stayed with the VL-352 for four years now. Also, the VL-352 combined with Otari's modified operating software has enabled us to run lines with 24 machines, which greatly increases productivity and efficiency. That helps keep profits up. So the machines are a very good long-term investment." Neamtz also praised Otari's technical support, noting that the company has always been there when they were needed. "We've been an Otari user so long that we were able to install the most recent batch of loaders ourselves. I can't ever see us using anything else." Tim Murray, Otari Industrial Products Sales Manager, comments, "QC Corporation has been a long-time user of Otari Industrial products. We worked very closely with QC's technical staff to tailor and modify our operating software to meet their specific needs. QC's confidence in our products contributed largely to their decision to enter the CD-R duplication market with their purchase last year of the CDP-64. The real benefit of QC's relationship with Otari is increased productivity and efficiency." |
